A New Veterans’ Compensation System

From 1 July 2026, new veterans’ compensation and rehabilitation claims are determined under the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004 (MRCA).

Veterans who previously had entitlements or accepted conditions under the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 (VEA) or the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Defence-related Claims) Act 1988 (DRCA) may also have rights under the new arrangements.

The interaction between existing entitlements and the current MRCA system can be complex. We can review your individual circumstances and advise you about the options that may be available.

Has DVA Rejected Your Claim?

A decision from DVA does not necessarily mean the end of your claim. If liability for a condition has been rejected, you disagree with an impairment assessment or you believe you have not received your correct entitlement, there may be options to have the decision reviewed. Strict time limits can apply.
